Congo Bars

Ingredients

  • 2 C. Brown Sugar
  • 2/3 C. Vegtable Oil
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 Tsp. Vanilla
  • 1/8 C. Water
  • 2 3/4 C. Flour
  • 2 1/2 Tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1 C. Semisweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 C. Chopped Walnuts

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Combine in a large mixing bowl brown sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla, and water.
  3. Add flour and baking powder. It helps to pour the baking powder directly on top of the flour then mix it, so the baking powder doesn’t clump in the liquid mixture.
  4. Once dough is mixed, add chocolate chips and walnuts.
  5. Eat some dough then scrape what’s left into a greased 13x9 inch brownie pan.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean (minus being smeared with chocolate which you can lick off).
  7. Let your bars cool, cut into squares, and enjoy!
