1 12 Oz. Bottle of Beer, preferably a foaming ale. (If you’re a teen, don’t go about trying to get this yourself. This is for bread, not for your gullet).
1/2 Stick Melted Butter (To pour on top of bread once bread is fully cooked).
Steps
Preheat oven to 350 Degrees Fahrenheit.
Using a wooden spoon in a large mixing bowl (dough sticks much less to wood), mix together flour, sugar, baking soda and salt very well.
From a low elevation to minimize foaming, pour the beer into the mixture. Stir well, until a rough dough is formed.
This is one dough you can eat as much of as you like, because there are no eggs. So go ahead!
Grease a standard loaf pan. (4x5x3”). However you choose to do it, get the batter from the bowl to the pan. Leave the top rough to give the bread a nice texture.
Bake until the entire top of the bread is golden brown, about 40-50 minutes.
Pour your melted butter on top of the loaf. (Since no oil is added to the dough, this step is necessary). Let the butter soak in for a few minutes, then enjoy as much of your delicious bread as you like.
