Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • 8 Small-Medium Apples - About 9 Cups
  • 1 Tsp. Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Tsp. Ground Nutmeg
  • 3/4 C. White Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 C. Apple Cider or Water
  • 1 C. All-Purpose Flour
  • 3/4 C. Breakfast Oats (Dry)
  • 1 C. Packed Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 Tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1/4 Tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/2 C. Melted Butter (1 Stick)
  • 1/2 C. Walnuts

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Core Apples, then slice into thin slices. (See Photo). Eat some slices, but be sure to leave some for the recipe!
  3. Place the apples into 9x13 inch glass baking dish.
  4. In a mixing bowl combine the cinnamon, nutmeg, white sugar, 1 tablespoon flour, and cider/water. Stir together mixture, and drizzle over apples evenly. Sift the apples a little to evenly distribute the paste.
  5. Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, butter, and walnuts. Stir together your topping then evenly spoon over the apples. Pack the crisp down so it is flat.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes. Serve with ice cream and apple cider. As always, enjoy your crisp!
